Gail West Graves went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, with his daughter by his side.
Gail was born on July 31, 1934, to John Alvin Graves and Eva Almeda West Graves in Prairie Lea, TX. He graduated from Webster High School and received his Bachelors of Science degree from Sam Houston State University. Gail met his beloved wife of 55 years, Wanda, at church in League City. Gail and Wanda moved to Richmond, TX in 1968, where they have resided since. For over 35 years Gail worked for Peabody Dore’, where he was responsible for receiving several patents for the company. Gail loved fishing and watching sporting events with his daughter and five grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as “Odie” or “Daddy Gail”. Gail especially enjoyed taking in a Houston Astros game with his family. Gail was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he attended 50 years and served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.
Gail was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Rae Graves, his parents, John and Eva Graves, and his sister, Beulah Jo Doyle.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Keith) Stafford, his son Ronald Graves, grandchildren, Raymond (Lauren) Stafford, Dylan (Anna Beth Stafford), Shelby (Chris) Waddell, Justin Stafford, and Jesse Stafford, his great-grandchildren Cheyenne Stafford, Ethan Waddell, and Eva Waddell, his sister, June (Ken) Lutes, and his sister-in-law, Kathy Fry.
Funeral services are set for 10 AM Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church, 4111 Airport Ave., Rosenberg, TX 77471, with Pastor Nate Sprinkles officiating. Interment will follow at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
Visitation will be 9 — 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Church, for one hour preceding the Funeral Service.
Serving as Pallbearers are Raymond Stafford, Dylan Stafford, Jesse Stafford, Justin Stafford, Chris Waddell, and Keith Stafford.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 4111 Airport Avenue, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
