Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority held a drop-off donation drive in honor of MLK Day.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority recently celebrated 114 years of service and sisterhood. Each year, members of the sorority participate in a MLK Impact Day that encourages members to go into the community and partake in a day of service. In a continued effort to support the tradition of giving back and honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., members of Envisioned Excellence (an official interest group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.) held a drop-off donation drive at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church in Richmond. Donations included toothpaste, laundry detergent, books, socks, disinfectant spray and wipes. The donated items will benefit the Fort Bend Rainbow Room, located in Rosenberg. The Fort Bend Rainbow Room is a resource room stocked with emergency and transitional supplies to meet the critical needs of Fort Bend County’s abused and neglected children and adults. Members of Envisioned Excellence are committed to continuous engagement of service in the Wharton, Kendleton, Needville, Richmond, Rosenberg, and Fulshear communities.
