Lamar 4, Terry 0
Lamar Consolidated rebounded from a loss to Seven Lakes, thanks in part to the pitching of Brady Rodgers.
The right-hander threw a one-hitter and struck out 17 as the Mustangs shut out rival Terry in Tuesday night's District 24-4A contest at Ranger Baseball Field.
The two teams will play again Friday night at Mustang Field.
Rodgers was stellar over 6-2/3 innings of work to improve to 8-1 on the season. Charlie Cox came on and retired the final Terry batter.
Lamar (8-2 in district, 17-4-1) received 2 RBIs from Eli Sepulveda and run-producing hits from Cody Robinson and Brandon Hollek. Dan Hernandez had two hits and solo hits were recorded by Cody Abraham, Raul Renovato and Ryan Haas.
Needville 13, Columbia 0 (5)
NEEDVILLE - Mike McGuire shut down the Columbia attack as Needville (8-1, 16-1) run-ruled the Roughnecks in five innings in Tuesday night's District 24-3A game at Blue Jay Sports Complex.
McGuire went the distance to improve to 7-0. He allowed just one hit and struck out nine, lowering his season ERA to 0.43.
The senior also added a grand slam in the midst of a 12-run third that turned the game into a runaway. Bradley Porras also went yard in the third, a two-run shot.
Needville took a 1-0 lead in the first when Corey Hail doubled and scored on an errant pickoff attempt by losing pitcher Tommy Kuban.
The Blue Jays sent 15 batters to the plate in the third. Adding RBI hits were Rikky Salazar, Ryan Stack and Hail, who drove in two runs on two base hits.
East Bernard 9, Van Vleck 5
EAST BERNARD - East Bernard overcame a 4-2 deficit with four runs in the fourth en route to a vital District 27-2A win over the visiting Van Vleck Leopards.
In the fourth, Anthony Cruz doubled in Luis Roldan and an error got Cruz home with the tying run. Clinton Graves (3-for-3) doubled in Stelzel with the go-ahead run and Cameron Orsak lofted a sacrifice fly, scoring Aaron Alexander.
Two more came home in he fifth on Stelzel's third hit of the contest and an Alexander double, scoring Roldan and Stelzel, respectively.
East Bernard's final run came in the sixth on Orsak's solo home run.
The Brahmas (4-2, 8-10) took an early 2-0 lead on a Jacob Hudman sacrifice fly in the first and Matt Stelzel's bases-loaded walk in the second.
In other district action, Brazos defeated Boling, 8-6.
Foster 7, El Campo 4
EL CAMPO - Three El Campo errors contributed to Foster's five-run fourth which led to a Falcon victory on the road.
Trailing 4-0, the Falcons jumped on top in the fourth and added two more in the fifth off losing pitcher Matthew Hamman.
The offense got two hits from Caleb Stokes and three hits from winning pitcher Ryan Smith. Other hits came from Joey Scheurich, Ryan Torres, Wade Konvicka and David Snyder.
Smith allowed just three hits and struck out 13 to get the win as Foster improved to 6-4 in District 24-4A play. El Campo fell to 4-6.
