| The West Fort Bend County Division of the American Heart Association is hosting its annual Wine and Cheese Tasting event from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22 at Briscoe Manor, 5801 FM 723.
“This event is an opportunity for Fort Bend County citizens to support the American Heart Association in its efforts to cure heart disease and stroke in our lifetime,” explains Karen McCarter, president of the board of directors.
Heart disease is still the number one killer of men and women in the United States.
Briscoe Manor is Presenting Sponsor and this is the first time the event will be held at the new facility designed for special events.
“We are very honored to have Briscoe Manor help sponsor our Wine and Cheese Tasting,” says Sandra Campos, chair of the event again this year, “and the elegant estate grounds are an ideal setting for our event.”
Briscoe Manor enhances the Briscoe family's Texas heritage that dates back to 1835 in Fort Bend County. Outdoor areas and rooms are named for family members, adding a touch of Texas history. The limestone walls are reminiscent of Briscoe Castle, the family's original home in Cumberland, England
Underwriting and selecting the wines featured that evening are the 2008 Wine Sponsors: Jan and Lee Leaman, Nina and Kevin Jarrett and Alice and Martin Weir.
Highlighting the evening is a live auction with Auctioneer Jeff Council. A silent auction features items donated by area businesses and individuals.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available with Private Reserve Port Level ($1000), Merlot Level ($500) and Chardonnay Level ($250). Each level receives special benefits that evening.
Sponsorship information may be obtained from Sponsor Co-Chairs Wendy Cederberg at 281 342-9263 and Steve Crow at 281 491-6600.
Admission to the Wine and Cheese Tasting is free, but donations are welcome.
