    With Daylight Saving Time ending this weekend, plan to get an early start for the annual Texian Market Days at the George Ranch Historical Park, 10215 FM 762 in Richmond.

    Texian Market Days runs Friday through Sunday to celebrate the heritage and heroes of Texas and includes historical reenactments, historic homes, folk life demonstrations, a time machine, arts and crafts, games, food and music.

    Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Under age 4 are free. For tickets call 281-342-1256 or visit www.georgeranch.org.

    Lamar Educational Awards Foundation's annual "Men Who Cook 2006" event is 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Safari Texas on FM 1464. The event features culinary treats from 55 celebrity chefs, along with dancing and auctions. All proceeds benefit classroom projects for Lamar Consolidated ISD teachers.     Youngsters can get a jump start on Halloween fun this weekend. The Rosenberg Railroad Museum, 1921 Ave. F, is hosting the BOOberg Fall Festival from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.     Needville Elementary School is hosting a Halloween Carnival from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the school's White Gym. The event features over 130 silent auction baskets, games, a costume contest and raffle.

    Beasley Elementary is hosting its annual Fall Festival from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the school, with games, food, costume contest and a silent auction.

    The city of Sugar Land is hosting its 22nd Boo Bash from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Sugar Land Community Center, 226 Matlage Way. The Boo Bash features a costume contest, carnival games, pumpkin patch, and moon walks, in addition to tours of a haunted pirate ship and maze.     Holy Rosary School holds its Halloween Carnival from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at 1408 James St. in Rosenberg. The hamburger supper, with chips and a drink, is $5, and hot dogs are $4.     The annual Fort Bend AWARE's Memory Walk starts at 8 a.m. Saturday in front of the AMC First Colony 24 Theater in Sugar Land. Activities include a 5K walk for adults and children, a doggie-walk, and a 1K walk. The fee is $30 for adults, $10 for children ages 18 and younger and $5 for dogs.     The Wallis Knights of Columbus is hosting three days of food events from Friday through Sunday to benefit charity programs. All activities will be held at the KC Hall in Wallis. At 6 p.m. Friday, it'll be a Hamburger Dinner with fries and a free Street Dance at 7 p.m. A Barbecue Cook-Off is on Saturday, and a Turkey and Dressing Dinner with all the trimmings will be served at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
