    Lace up your boots for the annual Lone Star Stomp XVII at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the George Ranch covered arena honoring Carolyn and Neil Banfield. The event features dinner, dancing, a live and silent auction and lots of entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the Fort Bend County Museum Association.     There are numerous opportunities to improve the environment and clean up the county this weekend. The National Youth Service Day is Saturday in the Richmond/Rosenberg area. Those wishing to volunteer should meet at the George Family Development Center, 500 Austin St. in Richmond for a kick-off rally at 9 a.m.

    Sugar Land is hosting Earth Day activities from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd. in Sugar Land. Facilities will be open to accept items for electronics recycling, eyeglass recycling, paper shredding and fraud and identity theft education.

    Electronic equipment will be accepted for a fee of $5 per item or a three-piece computer unit. Cell phones and pagers are free.     Now that spring is here, it's a great time to get in shape. Second Mile Ministries is holding its second annual dinner and silent auction at 7 p.m. Friday at the Marriott at Town Square in Sugar Land.     The second annual Sienna Family Fit Fun Run is Saturday at Scanlan Oaks Elementary in Sienna Plantation. Runs include a 5k, one-mile or quarter mile and Toddler Trot.     The Lamar Fillies are holding a dance clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lamar High School girl's gym. The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 3 to 18. The cost is $25 for the clinic and T-shirt. Call 832-223-3163 for reservations.

    Turn off the oven and enjoy the beautiful weather. Rosenberg Knights of Columbus are hosting the 17th annual all-you-can-eat crawfish boil and catfish fry from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the KC Hall on Highway 36 South in Rosenberg. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-12 and free for children under the age of 6, and are available by pre-sale only. Entertainment will be provided by the Zydeco Dots.     St. Wenceslaus Church in Beasley is hosting its 44th annual bazaar Sunday in the CCD building. Diners can enjoy barbecue beef, chicken, sausage and side dishes starting at 10:30 a.m. A live auction starts at 11:30 a.m. The bazaar also features music and entertainment for all ages.

    A benefit barbecue for Moriah Vazquez is from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Sportman's Lounge, 918 Hinson in Richmond.     Enjoy a bit of humor this weekend. Dulles High School's Distributive Education Club is hosting a performance by comedian and hypnotist at 7 p.m. Friday in Rogers auditorium, 550 Dulles Ave. in Sugar Land.     Youngsters are in for a treat as well. Smith Elementary, 2014 Lamar Dr. in Richmond, is holding a spring carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday featuring lots of food, games and prizes. Game tickets are 25 cents each.

    The Rosenberg Roughnecks is holding registration for cheer and football squads from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Cash America Pawn Shop, 4216 Ave. H in Rosenberg. The cost for football registration is $125 and $65 for the cheer squad. Parents should have a copy of the child's birth certificate and recent report card. To help the Roughnecks, brisket sandwiches, chips and a drink will be available for $5.

    Find a bargain for summer reading. Friends of the Missouri City Library are hosting its semi-annual book sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the library, 1530 Texas Parkway. Proceeds benefit the children's summer reading club and educational needs.

    Clean up the family station wagon. Rosenberg/Richmond's Junior ROTC is holding a car wash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Jiffy Lube on Avenue H. Cars and small SUVs are $5, and large trucks and SUVs are $7.

    Give the gift of life this weekend. Holy Cross Community Church is holding a blood drive from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the educational building, 839 Church St. in East Bernard.

    The City of Sugar Land is hosting a free concert in the park at 5 p.m. Sunday at Oyster Creek Park, 4033 Highway 6 South, featuring Ezra Charles. Attendees are asked to bring picnic dinners, blankets and chairs. Food vendors and children's games will be available.

    Help a pet find a home this weekend. First Colony Mall is hosting the Houston Humane Society's Pet Adoption Booth from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.

    Find out more about the Czech Heritage Saturday. The Fort Bend Czech Heritage Society is meeting Saturday at George Memorial Library, 1001 Golfview in Richmond. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. with speaker Ted Kasper who is showing a video on "Svaty Hostyn," a famous church in the Czech Republic.
