| A 150-foot by 50-foot storage building that housed golf carts at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch was destroyed by fire Monday evening.
Willowfork Fire Department Shift Captain Jody Polk said his department received a call reporting the blaze at about 8:10 p.m.
"Willowfork responded, and we had mutual aid from West I-10, Katy and West Lake fire departments," he said. "The fire was brought under control at about 10 (p.m.). All the golf carts had some type of damage - every one of them."
Polk said the building was also destroyed in the blaze.
"It's going to have to be totally rebuilt," he said. "Everything that wasn't fire-damaged had smoke damage or water damage. It was pretty much a total loss, but the clubhouse was not involved."
The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch is located at 23030 Cinco Ranch Blvd. at Peek Road, and Willowfork Fire Department is located at the corner of Westheimer Parkway and Mason Road.
Polk said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and is being investigated by the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal's Office.
A spokesperson for the office said investigators remained on the scene as of press time Tuesday.
